This sad type beat was actually inspired by The Wale Track Ambition, with Meek Mill and Rick Ross, but I felt that after production it had more of a Kid Cudi type beat where you can feel a sense of loss or emotion in the beat. A lot of kid cudi type beats are like that where the showcase emotion in the instrumental. I still liked the reverb on the drums that T- minus added on the ambition instrumental. That's why I only bring the drums in on the hook of the song rather than in the verse. This is more of a storytelling beat rather hyped upbeat even though it has trap type beat elements.
